Oysters are filter feeders that consume
phytoplankton already in the water column. We do not feed our stock; their food
is in the water. Since oysters are water filterers they reflect the quality of
the water they are grown in. You can tell our oysters are grown in deep water.
Pacific Rim Petites and our other shellfish products taste of the clean cold
ocean water they are grown in.
As part of our processing methods Pacific Rim Petites are graded and tumbled monthly producing uniform size, deeper dish and harder shell. Our stock is replenished at all stages of our grow-out to ensure a constant supply of product for the market place. During summer months, mature Pacific Rim Petites are held in sixty to ninety feet of water eliminating the spawning cycle creating a year round supply. Our deep water site produces an oyster reflective of its surroundings.
